This was the first exercise with basic analysis. The project had us obtain data from the school network drives, and produce a choropleth map of the number of stream crossings in each of Whatcom County’s “Watershed Administrative Units.” This is a product that underwent multiple revisions and could be improved cartographically, however the data is there. Density and number of stream crossings in an area can help focus restoration efforts throughout the county. It is pretty clear that the number of stream crossings is high in the more urban areas of Whatcom County, specifically, the City of Bellingham.
